The 539th Convocation of the University of Chicago was held on Saturday, June 7 2025, on the Main Quadrangle. The University of Chicago Pipe Band led distinguished faculty and degree candidates in a procession, followed by opening remarks from President A. Paul Alivisatos. Prof. Kunle Odunsi was the faculty speaker for the University of Chicago's campus-wide Convocation celebration on June 7, 2025, delivering an address entitled, ”Committing to Excellence in the Face of Life’s Challenges.” A renowned gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the treatment of ovarian cancer, Odunsi is the AbbVie Foundation Distinguished Service Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He serves as the director of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center and Dean for Oncology in the Biological Sciences Division.
