I show how to fill in a PDF document on a computer (PC or Mac) using Adobe Reader (DC version), with the writing and drawing tools provided in the software. In other words, your children or students can use the digital version of Math Mammoth totally paperlessly, if you so desire - no printing necessary! They can write the answers in the document and even DRAW shapes and lines in the geometry problems. It's also possible to do this on a tablet, with various PDF apps that allow annotation, but that's not covered in the video. All of this is possible because Math Mammoth files are enabled for annotation. Check out Math Mammoth curriculum here:

Math Mammoth Blue series books are topical worktexts (books by topics). There are nearly 50 different books, which cover all math topics for grades 1-7 -- from addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to fractions, decimals, percents, geometry, equations, statistics, and so on. What can you use them for? One common usage is to fill in gaps, such as when a student is transitioning from some other math curriculum to Math Mammoth, or if your current curriculum does not cover some topic, such as geometry or fractions, sufficiently. Another common scenario where these books come in handy is when a student is seriously behind in math. The Blue series worktexts don't point out the grade level (except on the introduction page), so students who are sensitive to the grade-level labels can enjoy using them. Could the Blue Series books be used as a complete curriculum? Yes, but in that case you need to design the order of study yourself. Learn more at

Basic principles when using Math Mammoth placement tests (which are work as free math assessment tests): - choose a test you THINK your student will pass - based on the results, you may need to administer the next lower or higher level test also... or in some cases, even three tests to get a good grasp of what your student knows and doesn't know. - if a student does well overall, except in one particular area (such as geometry) consider administering parts of the lower level tests in that area The tests are available at:

Math Mammoth Light Blue Series is a complete math curriculum for grades 1-7. The basic components are the two student worktexts (A and B). Those include both the instruction (the teaching, or the text) and the exercises (the work). So essentially the books are workbook & textbook together. The instruction is written directly to the student, thus the books often become nearly or completely self-teaching to many students (assuming they can read). Math Mammoth is mastery-based, which means each chapter focuses on a broad topic. That topic is then studied somewhat in-depth within the chapter. However, you can also use it in a spiral manner, by letting your student study in 2-3 chapters simultaneously. For review, the curriculum includes mixed review lessons, a worksheet maker (Internet access required), additional cumulative review lessons, plus built-in "hidden" review in the word problems. We also offer additional supplementary Skills Review Workbooks if your child needs even more review
