Romance

Publisher's Summary In the heart of Trenton, N. J., a killer is out to make sure someone gets his just desserts. Larry Virgil skipped out on his latest court date after he was arrested for hijacking an eighteen-wheeler full of premium bourbon. Fortunately for bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, Larry is just stupid enough to attempt almost the exact same crime again. Only this time he flees the scene, leaving behind a freezer truck loaded with Bogart ice cream and a dead body—frozen solid and covered in chocolate and chopped pecans. As fate would have it, Stephanie's mentor and occasional employer, Ranger, needs her to go undercover at the Bogart factory to find out who's putting their employees on ice and sabotaging the business. It's going to be hard for Stephanie to keep her hands off all that ice cream, and even harder for her to keep her hands off Ranger. It's also going to be hard to explain to Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, why she is spending late nights with Ranger, late nights with Lula and Randy Briggs—who are naked and afraid—and late nights keeping tabs on Grandma Mazur and her new fella. Stephanie Plum has a lot on her plate, but for a girl who claims to have "virtually no marketable skills," these are the kinds of sweet assignments she does best. ©2016 Janet Evanovich (P)2016 Random House Audio

Boring and mundane, Stephanie needs to make progress! I am very disappointed in this book, it is the 23rd in the series and nothing has changed.

As usual, Janet Evanovich and Lorelei King are the perfect couple when it comes to a suspenseful, romantic series.Waiting for this story was well worth it.The continuation of Stephanie's, Lula's, Ranger's and Joe's story is just as amazing and all the twenty-two previous books.Never a dull moment in their lives.I can't tell who I like best, Ranger or Joe.I would be happy with either one of them.Stephanie has the right idea. What will she do next?Keep them coming Janet and Lorelei.

I love Stephanie Plum, I always will but she needs to get a better job and a better apartment. She needs to pick Ranger or Joe or maybe neither....She needs to grow up some. The last 5 books have been the same old thing. Oh, and if she said messenger bag one more time.....

What could Janet Evanovich have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? The characters need to advance to change the story line.Ranger needs a girl friend or Joe needs to go under cover and Stephanie thinks he is cheating on her.Or she just needs to pick one and move on.Also, she needs to advance in her skills, have her solve a murder with rangers crew,or something to make her not so inept.Maybe develops some of rangers team into the mix.Do something or this is my last book in this series. Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?RangerIf you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Turbo Twenty-Three?the whole book, nothing new.

Always fun listening to the Plum books. Lula always cracks me up. Looking forward to the next.

You can tell that the story line wanted to take a leap with Ranger and Stephanie but it would skip to next day.Past books with them would give you a small peak with them coming together. This didn't say they did or didn't while they were at Disney.Plus the ending seemed short sided on what went on with Moreli explaining. Over all it was a good story line with some dead spots..

So as far as performance goes, Lorelei Is a true master and as always - 5 stars for her performance. As for the book, I have faithfully read or listened to every Stephanie Plum Novel but it would appear that the character is stuck. She's not any better at her job, her life is going no where and this story line was hard get excited about. It named me sad because I love the series but I think something major has to change for Stephanie.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?I love the Stephanie Plum series, but they've become kinda tired and "just ok"What aspect of Lorelei King’s performance would you have changed? She's always good

Definitely been better ones. Sort of feeling the same stories are being repeated over and over. Some of the humor seems repeated as well.

I've read and almost loved all the books in this series. This book's plot was very short, and lacking the usual robust combination of Ranger/Morelli/ Stephanie dilemma. The tension between these characters is half the fun of this series, yet the few times "steamy relationship stuff" was happening it got less than 2 G-rated sentences. The fun nonsense trouble Stephanie gets in to all the time also seemed light on the humor. This book just seemed like a rush job. Definitely not worth buying but worth renting from a library for free.
