While Orton would leave the group first and claim the World Heavyweight Title in the summer of 2004, the rise of Batista took a lot more time and a lot more care. Known as "The Animal" due to his incredible size and strength, Batista became suspicious of his Evolution team mates Triple H and Ric Flair after a series of mishaps, some of which were very subtle while others were obvious. After winning the 2005 Royal Rumble, Batista had a decision to make. He could go to Smackdown to face JBL for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21, or he could stay on Monday Night Raw and take on his Evolution mentor Triple H. While Hunter would say he wanted to face Batista and have the greatest WrestleMania match of all time, he was actually working hard (behind Batista's back) to ensure The Animal went to Smackdown.
