How on earth did this drivel get published? And why didn't someone stop the author from doing his own narration. If anyone out there gets the hype on this book,?please explain. It is sophomoric, poorly constructed and not all that interesting. I had to stop.

Would you try another book from Trevor Noah and/or Trevor Noah?noWould you recommend Born a Crime to your friends? Why or why not?noWhich scene was your favorite? When the boy defecated in the kitchen and his family was terrified because they thought it was from evil spirits. What else would you have wanted to know about Trevor Noah’s life?not muchAny additional comments?Very tiresome after awhile, and rarely very funny

This is a very cool stories book, but there really isn't much to be learned from in this book from a self improvement standpoint. Trevorjust tells clips of memories and flash backs of his child hood, with no real life lessons learned or anything like that. This book is great for mindless listening but that isabout it.

Great life story but didn't get the back story on how he became successful, working his way up, habits that he did to reach the top

Thought I had a winner until he got into a 10-15 minute dissertation on "shitting". Downhill from there. After 12 chapters I couldn't take thefrequent "f" words any more. Author is articulate, highly intelligent and engaging otherwise. He's a rebel and one feels he takes no little amount of pride in that. Got the impression that he was attributing more of his sufferings to apartheid thanwas deserved evenfor such an inhuman practise. Sometimes people do the wrong thing just because they don't care and the fault lies with them and not with the policy ther're under.

it took me a while to go through this book. a lot of it is the early childhood of the author, around6 to 8 years old stories, hanging out with his mother and talking about the dog. the end is more interesting, it deals with his teenagerhood and how he was getting.

I really enjoyed this book at first but it turned out to be very racist against white people. Not all white people are the same just as not all blacks are the same but this book portrays the whole race and a bad and stupid people. I’m not even willing to finish listening anymore. I’ve heard all I need too.

The story was good. Trevor Noah’s performance was also good. But it could have been half of what it is right now, sometimes it felt super redundant and I got bored with some of the irrelevant details along the way. I have to mention that this was highly recommended by a bunch of friends of mine, so I listened to it with very high expectations, and I was a tiny bit disappointed.

An ordinary diary sometimes amusing but not memorable even though set in Africa and of a boy of mixed race and poor..Naration good.

The apartheid history was interesting. Some of the personal stories. But then I just got sick of them.
