i-D Meets: Beabadoobee

​i-D Meets Filipino-born, London-based musician @Beabadoobee who tells us about her struggles growing up as a Southeast Asian girl in West London, how maturity helped her appreciate her roots, and her ‘lunchbox moment’ back in her school days. The 22-year-old ultra-indie-pop singer-songwriter shares her childhood memories whilst giving us a bedroom tour, revealing her extensive collection of fan-gifted stuffed toys and angsty teenage diary entries. At lunch, Bea orders a spread of classic Filipino staples including chicken wings, pancit canton, kubo fried rice, chicken adobo, and a triple threat dessert consisting of leche flan, turon and ube biko – as she discusses her obsession with chicken wings and her love for shrooms and weed edibles.
