The game is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the SmackDown series; the very best pro wrestling game developed by Yukes. SmackDown HCTP introduced new match types, a new and more streamlined Season Mode amd an updated roster featuring superstars such as Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg. The biggest new addition, however, was found in the gameplay itself. Smackdown "Here Comes The Pain" uses a new grapple system that granted each superstar a ton of new moves and, along with this, HCTP got a speed boost which made matches a lot of fun to play.
